About Us

In early 2001, SoCal Document Processing, Inc. was just the dream of Felipe Heras and Greg Sherman, two brilliant Recording Managers from a now-defunct major Recording and Transportation Provider in Southern California. In October 2001, Greg & Felipe gave that dream life by incorporating SoCal. Their vision was to become the premier Document Recording & Transportation Service in Southern California. The goal was simple: “We will do anything and everything to get the job done.”

What began as recording 5 documents per day has flourished to more than 3500 documents per day, what started in parking lots and car trunks has blossomed to county offices and California's most sophisticated transportation network, what was begun by two men has grown to a dedicated staff of nearly 100. This evolution has created a state-of-the-art document processing, recording and transportation service that has no true competitors.

By leveraging advanced technologies and human-driven customer service, the company has positioned itself miles ahead of the competition. The proprietary online application titled QuickCloze™, developed by Dave Sherman, the company's Director of Information Technology, is the next step to continued dominance in the industry. This application provides customers with real-time electronic confirmation and data for their recordings. No other company even comes close to this level of technology or customer service.

Beyond technology, the company's success can be attributed to the strict adherence to its initial goal, doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Felipe & Greg have insisted that no one forget true pride comes from providing your best effort to the customer, nor have they let the staff forget how valuable they are to the company's success. “Our people make the difference,” Felipe said.

Having seen the recent expansions into all 58 counties in California, Clark County in Nevada and Maricopa County in Arizona, the company has positioned itself as the industry leader in the Tri-State area.

April 2006 marks a new chapter in the company's history. To better represent the company's long-term vision and expansion of services, Greg & Felipe decided to change the company's name to Document Processing Solutions, Inc. “We are offering more than a recording service. We are providing solutions to our customers that help them become more efficient,” said Greg.

As DPS looks ahead, their original goal has expanded to reflect the steady and sustained growth seen since inception and projected forward: “We will be the most technologically-advanced, customer-oriented Document Recording & Transportation Service in the Nation that adheres to the simple principal: ‘Do anything and everything to get the job done!’.”
